Important update on thE future of tops

Sept 2024 update

Toronto Outdoor Picture Show faced unprecedented financial challenges this year, and our community responded with a groundswell of support. Our audiences donated throughout the summer to help to close an unprecedented funding shortfall. We are so touched by the show of support that so many of you demonstrated. You can read our 2024 Impact Report here.

We have not yet reached our funding goal for this year's festival, but we're close. Donations are crucial year-round, because we work all year long to create each summer festival. Contributions can be made online here.

We will be back for our 15th anniversary season in 2025! We don't yet know what form or size the festival will take, but we're confident that the keys to building our stability lie within our large and passionate community of supporters.

July 2024 update

Tops needs your support now to Ensure the future of free programming

This summer, we’ve broken our own attendance records, first at Fort York in June and then at Corktown Common in July, then at Christie Pits in August. Recent screenings have been a sight to behold, and your presence and enthusiasm has warmed our hearts even more than usual.

Despite these incredible movie nights we've spent together recently, Toronto Outdoor Picture Show's future is uncertain. We have a $70,000 funding shortfall from traditional funding sources this year, and we must close it in order to remain operational.

The impact of our free public programming has never been more essential than it is now, amid a cost-of-living crisis, as festivals around the city announce their closures due to funding shortfalls. We want to be here next year, but we urgently need your help.

If this festival is meaningful to you, please make a charitable donation or purchase a special Commemorative Audience Poster. Thank you, thank you, from all of us at TOPS. We appreciate you.
