Toronto outdoor picture show PRESENTs
TOPS & FRIENDS
Summer 2021 at fort york
Are you aching for cinema under the stars? We have good news!
You probably remember that last August we safely presented the city’s first in-person festival of the pandemic period, on the beautiful grounds of Fort York. It was such a big success, and a really memorable event for everyone who attended - so we’re heading back to one of our favourite places in the city for our summer 2021 festival!
From late July through Labour Day, Toronto Outdoor Picture Show will present a summer season called TOPS & Friends, a celebration of outdoor cinema and community. The multi-week film programme will feature both TOPS-curated films AND special screenings presented by some of our favourite Toronto festivals! Look forward to film selections from Inside Out, Vector Festival, Toronto Palestine Film Festival, Regent Park Film Festival, Breakthroughs Film Festival, Goethe-Institut Toronto, Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival, and more! This is made possible by a supportive partnership with Toronto History Museums.

We’ll have more details and a full schedule to share with you soon, but here’s what you need to know now:
Sadly, we’re not allowed to present screenings in public parks yet, so our series at Christie Pits Film Festival, Corktown Common, and Bell Manor Park remain postponed indefinitely (we’ll be back as soon as we can!)
Fort York is a unique space where we can ensure physical distancing and enhanced event protocols so that everyone has a safe and memorable experience
Like last year, admission to the festival will require a ticket (this helps us to manage attendance and contact tracing). They will be free! But they will go fast! Last year they were all claimed within 5 minutes.

The programme schedule will be announced in July
