TOPS’ DIY outdoor cinema EVENT RESOURCE
Are you an arts or community organization new to outdoor cinema programming? TOPS has compiled a short resource to help not-for-profits to start planning their own outdoor film screenings for the community.
If you found any part of this document helpful or compelling to read, please take a few brief minutes to tell us what you thought of this resource at this link.
If you would like to inquire about hiring TOPS to complement your outdoor event with high quality A/V equipment rentals (screen, projection, and sound) and trained staff, please fill in this form to submit your inquiry, or email Head of Operations David Osubronie at dosubronie@topictureshow.com.
TOPS’ COMMUNITY BONDS PROJECT
Ahead of the Summer 2019 season (and in advance of Toronto Outdoor Picture Show’s 10th anniversary season), TOPS launched a milestone Community Bonds Project - selling community bond investments to members of the community and supporters at large to invest in the purchase of its own Audio-Visual Equipment. The community bonds successfully made up $50,000 of the $110,000 A/V investment (paired with a Capital Investment Grant).
Community Bond is an interest-bearing loan that is accessible to unaccredited investors and can only be issued by non-profit and charitable organizations. For organizations, community bond purchases can:
Earn buyers 3.5-5% return on their investment within two to five years. That’s a better return than typical TFSAs (Tax-Free Savings Accounts) and GICs (Guaranteed Investment Certificates).
Give them the satisfaction of knowing that they’re putting your savings toward a local, ethical investment vehicle.
Allow them to contribute to the cultural vibrancy of their community.
